22 Dec 2014 Who says midday game viewing is bad?
A few weeks ago we came across this young female leopard feeding on an impala at midday. Many wild animals tend to move more towards water holes or shady spots in the heat of the day. However, this wonderful sighting proves that game viewing can be enjoyed at anytime of the day.
Leopards are nocturnal by nature, but there’s always a chance of seeing them when the sun is up. This leopard was a bit skittish due to the fact that leopard kills often get stolen by other predators, particularly hyena and lion. This is why they often drag their kills under bushes or up into trees, and then try to feed as much as possible before they get disturbed.
