THE WILDLIFE

Spot the Big 5! Camp Jabulani is based on Kapama Private Game Reserve near the Kruger National Park. The lush vegetation and varied habitats of this balanced ecosystem means that it is able to support dense populations of wild animals, offering world class game viewing opportunities.

SAFARIS

Guests are able to join experienced rangers in open safari vehicles as they head out in search of The Big 5, and the smaller (but no less significant) creatures that are part of an African Safari. Guests can expect close encounters with animals in the wild – the stuff that movies are made of.

THE JABULANI HERD

This incredible herd of orphaned elephants will leave you in absolute awe… Rescued from a strife-torn Zimbabwe they have matured over time to become a very close-knit family group. Each elephant has its own character and shares a unique bond with the rest of the group.

TAKING CARE OF OUR ELEPHANTS

Camp Jabulani’s proudest achievement doesn’t only lie in the successful rescue of a herd of orphaned elephants in 1996 from strife-torn Zimbabwe, nor in the the intensive rehabilitation of tiny elephant calf, Jabulani (who is also the namesake of the herd)…

OUR DECISION TO STOP ELEPHANT-BACK SAFARIS

The well-being of the Camp Jabulani elephant herd has always been at the forefront of the operation and in May 2016 the decision was taken to completely phase out elephant-back safaris.

CONSERVATION

Camp Jabulani has, at its roots, a commitment to wildlife conservation and works hand in hand with the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, partnering on a number of initiatives to assist the HESC with its objectives…
