02 Aug 2016 Guernsey pride with warthog kill, by ranger Ruan Roos
With one of the the worst droughts to hit South Africa, food supplies are running at an all time low for the herbivores of Kapama. As the weaker animals struggle to find food, carnivores are not struggling for their next meal.
On one of the our recent morning drives, the Guernsey lion pride was spotted close to camp with a freshly caught warthog. Moria Madoda and his cubs wasted no time in digging into their pork breakfast, and left nothing but a few bones behind. The warthog was the 7th kill the Guernseys had made in a 9-day period.
This lion pride is definitely proving its dominance.
