16 Mar 2018 Elephant experience at Camp Jabulani
Planning your next vacation? Looking into a team building experience? The answers to these questions are relatively easy: Camp Jabulani. This five star, Relais & Châteaux accredited lodge is the solution for any getaway.
Besides their excellent game drives with astounding viewings of the big 5, they offer programmes for children (Team Tusker) where they are given the opportunity to go fishing, paint and find treasures around the lodge. Remarkable food is served daily and a therapy lapa is ready to knead out the urban knots.
One thing that sets Camp Jabulani apart from all the rest, is the elephant experience which was created for all to enjoy. What exactly does this experience entail?:
A most fascinating elephant experience, that will make you wish you could jump in the dam and celebrate life with them. Elephant personalities are showcased here and Sebakwe can often be seen playing with an old tree trunk in the water. Samopani takes the term “mud bath” to the next level, while young Mambo and Zindoga can be seen in a friendly sparring session. This is always a firm favourite. Which-ever one comes to your attention will make for amazing photo opportunity of the elephants being their happy-selves.
For the unnerved it is important to note that the swim is viewed from the safety of the game viewing vehicle.
Meeting our gentle giants
Every afternoon, Camp Jabulani guests have the opportunity to meet two of the gentle giants.
The afternoon interaction gives every guest the opportunity to feed and interact, with both Jabulani and Sebakwe, (this includes a photo opportunity). Jabulani, the elephant after whom the lodge was named, has a remarkable story. Read more about it here> Sebakwe, as kind as they come, is a well known celebrity and mascot for Amarula. Amarula is a alcoholic beverage made from the marula fruit native to South Africa. Read more about Sebakwe here>
Marvelling at these enormous creatures, leaves you feeling miniscule and in absolute awe.
If these two experiences did not leave you flabbergasted, you will now be given the opportunity to track these creatures in the bush:
The Bush on foot
Ranger at hand, guests move through the African bushveld tracking down the herd. Accompanied by a few of the elephant grooms, you will then go on a bushwalk with the ranger to observe the daily activities of elephants. You are invited to come and observe Fishan pushing over trees to showcase his strength. Or, view the curios Limpopo keeping a distant eye on what you are busy with.
With this activity you are allowed a moment to see the elephants in their natural habitat – eating, walking and even talking to one another. Few people get to participate like our guests do and the impression will leave you encapsulated in admiration.
At Camp Jabulani you are not only offered the amazing safari experience you expect from any African holiday, but we give you the elephant experience of a life time.
